Summer Romance Flash Contest
Details
Deadline: | September 15 |
Fee: | Free |
The end of summer brings on nostalgia for summer love. Songs like “Boys of Summer” by Don Henley capture some of the sentiment. A book like Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller is another good example.
Romance is my favorite type of story. Except, I am very picky about the type of romance stories I love. I like the characters to be deep and developed. I like the chemistry to be strong. I like literary stories with beautiful prose.
Sex and adult content are okay, but make it creative. No erotica.
Other genres are okay as well, as long as the romance is at the center of the story. The only genre I’ll exclude is horror.
Am I being to picky about my wishes for romance? Possibly, but I challenge you to write a flash story in 1,000 words or less that captures that nostalgic feeling of summer.
Prize money for this contest is provided by the Scribophile Writing Contest Prize Fund.
